When in Creston 🤗 Victoria: Day two. More sightseeing - Robert Bateman Centre, Emily Carr House, BC Royal Museum, Fisherman's Wharf for dinner (again) and more - before we hopped the ferry yesterday morning to make the long, long drive to Creston for a few days. Victoria is a beautiful city, I hope to go back again someday soon! . . #victoriabc #yyj #vaycay #robertbateman #tourist @lonnietaylor Second yarn stop I'm Victoria was the incredible @knottyknews - I'm so glad @beehivewoolshop suggested I check them out! Beautiful shop stuffed with handspun that was dyed and spun in-store, as well as other local yarns - picked up a scrumptious skein of @jomayarn 100% sw merino 1-ply worsted Mashmellow Rino base in the "Kackaw!" colorway - and more. . . I was so excited to see wool felt! It's so hard to find, and they had so many beautiful colors so I picked up a few, and a braid of house-dyed merino/silk blend in the most unicorn-y color you can imagine. Love, love, love. . . #victoriabc #yyj #indieyarn #indiedyer #yarnlove #handdyed #knittersofinstagram I yarn-stored so hard today! Two amazing shops in Victoria. First up: the historic @beehivewoolshop. Beautiful store in a brick building just outside Chinatown. Huge selection - some colorways from Mad Tosh and Fleece Artist I've never seen - I could have stayed all day. . . No local (regional) indie-dyed yarn in stock presently so I picked up a few things that are new to me: super soft @biscotteyarns (from Montreal) 85/15 sw merino/nylon speckled sock in the colorway "Caraibes"; and a gorgeous @fleeceartist_handmaiden Halo Bundle - a skein of 100% sw merino single and coordinating 70/30 kid mohair/nylon blend in the colorway "Sea Oak".
