Today, my dear friend Valerie (@vlrny) issued a poetry challenge that’s meant – to me, anyway – to inspire me (read: those of us she tagged) to write! Hurrah! So now I not only have an excuse to craft teeny-tiny poems on Twitter, but to actually (FINALLY!) update here!
If you’re on Twitter, you can follow along with the hashtag #micropoetry (and the lesser-used, more umbrella-esque #MarchMicro) to keep track of all the micro poems coming out. My goal is to also share each poem here, but likely not every day. I’ll also be sharing to my Facebook page, so you can find them there, too.
And so, without further ado, my first March micro poem:
The sun
once forlorn
once forgotten
strains
peeks out through frost-tinted skies
a distant glow
promising life
and birdsong
