#MarchMicro: Monday, March 12

Two little girls
trace the line of time
like crayons on a page
one stroke after another
an endless trudge
pondering toward yesterday
turn the hands back and
imagine they’re swimming the past like a river
flooded by light
and drowning in wishes

A/N: I read an article this morning in The Huffington Post about these two girls in China who, copying a television show, tried to time travel and drowned in the process. I’ve never been one to create a poem out of something I’ve read or watched – unless it’s people watching – but this just sort of came out.
